Okay then, snowflake_challenge Day 1!

I'm supposed to introduce myself, so here it goes. I'm LQT, but I first got into this fandom (well, super briefly under something like PhoenixTears777, I think??? For like 2 weeks?) under the username traintracks. There may be some questionable ficlets over there? *pulls at collar* *is awkward* I got into HP fandom in January of 2012, so this month marks 8 years in fandom for me! Yay for that! I started with Sirius/Harry, because that just really floated my boat. I was too intimidated to write Drarry at first. I figured, coming so late to the fandom, it had all been written before, and better than I could if I tried. I'm really glad I got over that though! I've met some amazing people writing all kinds of pairings in the fandom, and I'm so grateful to be a part of it! I met my awesome girlfriend here too. In fact, she was the very first person I ever talked to in HP fandom! She commented on the first Sirius/Harry I wrote and liked it. Little did we know at the time... ;) ♥

I'm a Virgo. I live in the U.S. I'd like to write an original novel, starting this year. *gulps* I'd like to choreograph and have a queer burlesque (sort of Fosse/hip hop/contemporary) show. I'm a bookseller at a big bookstore (not to be named, but you know the one), and I run the kids department where I am and love that and love the wonderful freaks I work with! But if someone were to ask me what I do? I'd have to say that I create sexy queer things. I mean, that's the truth. It's at the heart of everything I love doing, whether that's writing or dancing or wanting to help people in some way.

I'm sick today, which blows. My head feels full of cement. I'm not even sure if this post makes sense. Thanks for reading it though! ;P

The idea for this little story came from when sdk visited me back in September, and we saw someone (young man? old woman? That’s still up for debate.) riding a motorcycle down the road. They had shockingly blond hair and were (I think) in a leather jacket, etc. We decided then and there that Draco Malfoy on a motorbike needed to be the prompt for Shelly’s birthday fic. ;) So this is to my wonderful girlfriend on this her birthday, the year she becomes the answer to everything! I love you so very much, Shelly. This story does not do that love justice. But I hope you enjoy it anyway. Happy birthday, my love. ♥ ♥ ♥

I hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year’s Eve! The good news: I’m off work today. The bad: I feel like I’m coming down with something. So far just a sore throat (regular, not defcon strep) and some stuffiness. I’m guzzling juice and doubling up on vitamins. A wilder night will be had by no one, I’m telling you.

Anyway. I didn’t make my getyourwordsout goal of 150k this year, but I’m okay with that. I was going to make a mad push the last days of December and try for an even 100k, but that’s not happening either. ;P I’ll be content with my 91,731 words (unless I get some energy and an idea from somewhere and bounce out some more words in a few hours). Most of those 90k+ words are not published; my actual word count for published works... well, I guess I could check AO3 for that (they’re so handy!): 49,804. Man, now I sort of want to write a 196 word ficlet and get to an even 50k! LOL. Anyway, it’s not a lot, but nothing to sneeze at either. Not that I condone sneezing on anybody’s words. Writing and posting any number of words is commendable af. I commend you all: writers, readers, people who leave kudos, commenters, reccers, artists, etc. Thank you for keeping this fandom alive and beautiful. ♥
